day 3 of getting back into shuffling:

  • pretty much got the running man and t-step down although I still have difficulty doing the t-step on my left leg
  • how 2 make transition between running man and t-step smooth??
  • work on balance because I keep falling over when trying to do kicks
  • 180 spins = okay, 360 spins = need work
  • work on variation and power!!

crying, I’m on Youtube just randomly browsing when I came across a “shuffling” video only to find a kid in there jumpstyling to electro.

omg, the girl at 1:38…damn, wish I could shuffle while wearing a skirt and look boss at the same time.

On another note, I thought it was pretty cool how some of the shufflers incorporated some jumpstyle into their routine. And their phat pants are sexy.

“The reason we’re pissed off is because the LMFAO dance is simple, easy to learn choreography, that anyone can learn, when we put years off effort into learning our dance.

Aside from that, LMFAO have essentially trademarked the name ‘shuffling’, and now people automatically associate it with their song, their image, and that catchphrase.

It’s a mockery of what we worked so hard to achieve. People no longer recognize our dance for what it is.”

Found this comment on Youtube and I must say it is pretty damn accurate.

I decided to look through the ‘shuffling’ tag out of pure boredom in hopes of seeing any Tumblr shufflers. All I saw was LMFAO and “everyday I’m shuffling” shit. You guys, I want to cry. Cry.

So I’m just browsing on Youtube, looking at k-pop idol groups doing dance covers on variety shows or whatever. I watch Infinite dance to 2PM’s I’ll Be Back, and I look through the comments and see onslaughts of EVERY DAY I’M SHUFFLING.

Then some girl had the audacity to say Please stop saying Every day I’m shuffling because 2PM did it first :]]]]

OKAY WHORES AND BITCHES LET’S GET OUR FACTS STRAIGHT:

  • The dance 2PM did in their I’ll Be Back choreography is technically not “shuffling”, it is called the Running Man, and why I am so anal about this shall be explain later.
  • 2PM did not ”invent” shuffling first, the move “Running Man” was a dance move popular some time during the 90’s but was popularized when the move was incorporated into Melbourne Shuffling.
  • Don’t you dare compare the shuffling in Party Rock Anthem to 2PM’s I’ll Be Back, because both are very poor excuses of what shuffling is.
  • The point in shuffling is shuffling to the bass. There is absolutely no bass in both Party Rock Anthem or I’ll Be Back, or at least one that is consistent.
  • Melbourne Shuffle rules all. I’m so peeved that people call 2PM’s dance “shuffling” is because they only do half of what real shuffling is. Honest to God, if you want to know what true shuffling is, watch Melbourne Shuffling videos - not that poor excuse of shuffling in Party Rock Anthem, or the silly “shuffling” that k-pop bands like doing, Melbourne Shuffling is how you actually do it. Not to wimpy soft electro music, not to pop music that has no bass to shuffle to but to hardstyle.

My inner EDM hipster is done ranting. Continue with your lives.

I knew what shuffling was before it was mainstream /hipster

I’ve been tolerating it for the past few months after seeing an onslaught of people trying to shuffle because it’s getting popular as of late. I mean, it’s to express not impress right? And I will admit, I can’t shuffle well because my legs don’t listen to me and I guess I don’t practice enough. But I’ve had it.

IF YOU ARE GOING TO SHUFFLE, SHUFFLE TO HARDSTYLE.

I cannot stand it when people shuffle to music that isn’t even remotely close to hardstyle. I can tolerate electro-shuffling every now and then, but when you dance to techtonik or any music that has no bass to shuffle to whatsoever?

That’s when you need to stop. Especially if you suck at shuffling. In fact, that’s not even shuffling, you just look fucking dumb.
