You see that girl? Her name is LIGHTS or Valerie Poxleitner. She is a songwriter and musician. She has an amazing, pure, and clear voice, has one of the most gorgeous smiles, and a really dorky personality.
Most songs nowadays deal with love, sex, or drugs. LIGHTS? While some of her songs dabble on love, her songs talk about things I actually want to hear. Courage, hope, the past, the power to move on, our childhood, reassurance, friendship - she literally is what she is: a light in my life. Whenever I listen to her songs, I feel like she is right beside me, coaxing me with her words and her soothing melodies. She creates emotions that no other artist could ever do. Whenever I feel like I’m about to sink into depression, I listen to her voice and I can feel her voice hugging my soul as though comforting me in my pain, her voice whispering, “I feel it too, and I’m here for you, because no one else is.”
I support this woman with everything I have, and I feel like she should have so much more fans. In all: I love her. I believe everyone should take the time to appreciate her music, because she is talent. Pure talent. Some songs I like to recommend are Lions! (my favorite ♥), Quiet, Pretend, and Face Up. She has so much more amazing songs, but those are my favorites that ultimately help me with my depression. Everyone should take a listen when they can, because she is my saviour ♥
On a side-note, I’m listening to Approaching Nirvana’s remix of LIGHTS’ Everybody Breaks A Glass, and I literally want to cry tears of happiness. It sounds so amazing, bouncy, and bubbly, I already forgot that I nearly wanted to cry my heart out during school.
